Mitsubishi Robotics CC-Link and RV-8CRL

The RV-8CRL is a slim and compact machine with a reach of 931 mm and an installation pitch of 160 mm. The arm can handle a payload of up to eight kilograms. Moreover, the robot’s slender design allows it to save capital investment.

The controller was a simple position setpoint regulator with a sample rate of 7.1 ms. This was achieved with the use of a microprocessor, an Intel 8051. Moreover, the controller was able to receive the setpoint position from the PC via Ethernet communication. After a collision, the controller would send back different monitor data.
