Kymeta is a company that one should follow up because it offers the next generation of connectivity (satellite connection together with cellulär networks), more availability, and at a low cost. It is backed with funding from none the less than Bill Gates. All this has a great impact, taking into consideration that more than 8 billion new users will be connected to the internet for the first time and the people that already have an internet connection, will need a better one.

One of the latest news is that Kymeta Corporation ”secures $85 million financing round to accelerate growth, with funding from Bill Gates”.

Kymeta explains its value as follows:

“Kymeta is delivering solutions for the next generation of mobile connectivity.

Half the world remains disconnected from the internet, while demand for connectivity in the other half continues to grow. Today, large investments are being made to increase the number of satellites in space, making satellite capacity more available and cost effective than ever before.

Kymeta is unlocking the potential of the satellite, combined with cellular networks, to offer solutions that are low-profile, lightweight, easy to install, and virtually maintenance-free. Both fixed and mobile platforms now have access to connectivity that leverages the best of satellite and cellular networks, regardless of location. Stay connected anywhere, anytime and experience a new world of mobile freedom.”

How Many Users will be connected to the Internet in the Future?

This article from Cybersecurity Ventures states that “Humans On The Internet Will Triple From 2015 To 2022 And Hit 6 Billion” so we see that there is a huge business when it comes to next-gen satellite connectivity like in the case of Kymeta:

“Looking ahead, Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that there will be 6 billion Internet users by 2022 (75 percent of the projected world population of 8 billion)and more than 7.5 billion Internet users by 2030 (90 percent of the projected world population of 8.5 billion, 6 years of age and older).
The number of people connected to the Internet, not to mention the number of Things (IoT devices), is staggering.
A growing corps of cyber fighters will be needed to protect the world’s citizens from cybercrime, which is predicted to reach $6 trillion annually by 2021, up from $3 trillion in 2015. But, we’ve got a real numbers problem with that.
This challenge has created a cybersecurity market that will be worth $1 trillion between 2017 and 2021 (5-year cumulative spending on cybersecurity products and services).
It’s not all gloom and doom. Cybercrime is a natural outgrowth of the expanding cyber attack surface, and it should be expected. A realistic view of the risks and threats we face will help organizations and consumers to do a better job of protecting themselves.”

As we see, there will be a need for expertise as well but with better communications that will lead to more access to education, we will without any doubt be in a better position to solve this.

How is the great Bill Gates

William Henry Gates III (born October 28, 1955) is an American business magnate, software developer, investor, and philanthropist. He is best known as the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation.[2][3] During his career at Microsoft, Gates held the positions of chairmanchief executive officer (CEO), president and chief software architect, while also being the largest individual shareholder until May 2014. He is one of the best-known entrepreneurs and pioneers of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s.”

Here is a biography of Bill Gates:

By the way, don’t miss the blog written by Bill Gates which has videos, tips on books, and more at

He has a new book coming out on February 16th, 2021 called “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need“.

He has written the following books:

Kymeta: State of the Industry

The following video explains how remote populations will have access to the internet thanks to satellite connection.

This means that populations will have more access to education, medicine, commerce, mobile communications, information, and more.

“It will provide strategic advantages to military groups operating in harsh environments,” says the video.

So we see that Kymeta offers solutions to different areas which results in exponential growth worldwide.

Kymeta’s Technology and Business Opportunities

Kymeta says that ”The science behind Kymeta´s technology was born from fundamental metamaterials research at Duke University and later incubated at Intellectual ventures”. It explains that ”what makes Kymeta successful is the energy and focus of the talented people who work here.”

It states that global connectivity is in demand and explains that there are a lot of opportunities like:

  • More powerful satellites
  • More capacity
  • New frequencies
  • Frequency re-use
  • Affordable capacity

Kymeta targets the following markets:

  • Land mobile
  • Government
  • Maritime
